The Festival of Candles 2023

A Version of the Matangi Yantra

§19 February update:

I found this upload [no longer available on YT] sober and helpful. Actually, a day or so before I found it my rigpa was advising me that it was not necessary to overwork previous procedures on the cobweb floater. He gives the best description of this floater and its flash effects that I have found. With the waning moon I made a few attempts to handle the cobweb floater as I had done with the monster flake and other debris. I used the moonbeam to effectively break up and dissolve the dropped nucleus which is crustal protein that does not belong in the vitreous matter. I completed those successful exercises with some acupuncture treatments that resulted in stabilization of the current condition, with almost a total absence of floaters of any kind.

What he says here about the cobweb floater lurking in the corner of the eye is exactly what I have experienced and described to you. I will not make any more efforts to bring it down into the field of vision. My rigpa alerted me to ignore it. Also, I noted that when I expressed anger at the bother of the flashes, they diminished. Example of anger as a form of neuro-adaptation? Good one, there. Of course, I was wary of just ignoring it as that might verge on denial in the fact of evidence. However, I see now that I am on the right course to closure.

Tomorrow is the last day of the Matangi shift. I had proposed that you use the app with me until the closing day. Thanks for your support. I am sure it contributed to the near-miraculous resolution of this event, and the avoidance of a vitreoectomy nightmare which the doctor proposed due to being unable to imagine any other way to manage a dropped nucleus. I propose you use the last day of the shift for a moment or two of gratitude for the fortunate solution to my left-eye catastrophe. Near catastrophe. Gratitude expressed to the SC app will secure a good future prospect. JLL

The audio says it all. For reference:

Posterior detachment of the retina: Vitreous Detachment

This is their resolution to a “dropped nucleus”: Vitreoretinal Priesthood

§ I also had an excellent set of acupuncture treatments working the liver and gall bladder meridians. Apparently, Chinese medicine says the former can be used to eliminate floaters. I can report that in the course of the 9 treatments, all floaters disappeared.

There remains that one intruder, the webbed floater. By one narrative, I live continually now in clear and present danger of a retinal detachment event. By another narrative, if I did indeed dissolve the monster flake and eliminate all other floaters, what else is possible? It would be impossible by medical standards, of course.

Regarding what is possible, I just took a walk in the dark with the beauty beast. Venus set here close to due south-west at 8:10 or so. In the Manitu. Directly, vertically above it stood Jupiter. In the Fishes under the rear body of the Western Whale. Repeat: directly, vertically up from Venus. So, as you know, you trace the line of the ecliptic with your eyes going from planet to planet. High up and around to the left (east) there is mars at the head of the Bull. The arc of Venus-Jupiter-Mars shows the line of the ecliptic passing almost vertically over the house. Mars is notable for being, as far as I know, at present the highest signal we’ve seen from here. We have not seen any other planet that high, meaning that the ecliptic is that high. We have seen the moon close to or at that elevation. But only the moon, not planets, not the ecliptic itself.

Facing east and turning north-east, there is the moon in the Twins, @E102 (perihelion of the earth, north node of Jupiter), heading toward its apogee in the Crab and then it will be approaching maximum elevation above the ecliptic plane, about 5 degrees. To the left of the moon — you are looking almost north now, and vertically up — comes the Lion. How can the Lion be in a position northward behind the house where the Great Bear should be? How can the arch of the ecliptic constellations be passing almost vertically over the house at this time of year, or any time of year? It’s impossible.

And so is what I have done and intend to do.
