DWW 5 Photo Tour of the Charlotte Working

February 4, 2019

Profile of Charlotte’s Ridge, looking southwest over the hump. The sky is colorless, strangely neutral, and there is no wind. Thick reeds, bracken, and underbrush bar entry to the Ridge.

At the grove the greyness of the ambient light is palpable. The air is totally still. Cording bag on ground

Contrast photo renders the wild gestures of the witching tree, recalling a maenad dancing in ecstasy. The tree is black, like a drawing in heavy ink.

Sinker nestled in a bed of wet leaves, original sinker cord (red)

Cords still relatively taut

Technique of pinning feathers to cord to be added

Materials for supplementary cording: vulture fathers from the Serrania de Ronda and two white owl feathers plus pin feather. Red, white, and green cord.

Supplementary cording for closure with SC app fixed to tree. The feathered cord hangs down to the place where I rapped the root with my knuckles. Red V of the sinker line.
